Sometimes I have a day. As everyone does, somedays. Today was one of those days. And on those days, whether or not the weather is game, a good sweat with a shovel solves most things.
With the sweat and the shovel off limits a few months yet, I took to the fingertips. One fresh, soft, new tuft of grass at a time. Into the bucket with you! With you, and also with you. And the calm came and the methodical was found and all was well again soon enough.
A little dirt, some sweat, and hope for future beauty and bounty cure lots of ills.
It’s so funny how when you can’t figure out what to do, the dirt knows just the thing. (And that sometimes when it’s extra hard to not just sit with a cloud over your head and pull up Netflix, that’s exactly when a little work will help.)
Me too! Out in the garden for a couple of hours yesterday putting the soil down for a longish nap. Judging from he temps today, it might not be that long. Happy Holidays, PlumDirt!
This is glorious weather! Albeit seasonally confusing for the flora, I’m sure.
One piece at a time can make the goal seem impossible. When you look at what you accomplished when you stop you know it was all worthwhile. 🙂
That’s a great way to look at it.
We got our first real blanketing of snow today, and I am on crutches for a few weeks (no biggie). Please keep posting pics of playing in the dirt as I am afraid Nova Scotia has officially started winter and I will be without my dirt fix, outdoors anyways, for about 3 more months…..
Oh, no! I know the grief of life on crutches and hope you heal quickly. I’ll try to keep the sunshine and green coming through the screen for you 🙂
