It’s wait-and-see…people use the term Bramble to mean both fruiting and non-fruiting, and even to refer to the berries themselves. Keep it pruned to two canes, and hope for the best! 😀
I agree with your commenter. Keep it “tamed” to a couple of canes and see what it does! I “let” wild blackberries grow in large mulched beds with trees, so they don’t grab me when I mow or stroll. They produce best though in sunnier locations. I say keep it, but perhaps train the brambles up with a trelis or such so they don’t sprawl in your garden. Those thorns…

We were thinking of getting it grow “up” and doing so with only two canes makes that a lot easier!
