Uprooting

In a short few weeks we’ll have moved. Back to where we came. Three miles west.

To ready the house, to sell the house, to greener pastures in the form of better schools and shorter commutes.

I may not have a garden this spring. Or I may be keeping this one up for months, housing market dependent.

But I’ll bring some along for the ride, like this 4 year old chiogga beet.

While others will be gone before the house changes hands.

Any tips on moving asparagus crowns into containers for a few months?

Wow! Thatโ€™s one cool beet! I hate moving, but the upside is that change means the opening of a new chapter, better schools and less time on the road to work notwithstanding. Best wishes in the upcoming months as you readjust!

Each one is its own sculpture, some much more gnarly than this rather normal shape.
I like moving. I’ve been in this house 4.5 years which is a new record for me in my lifetime so far. I hope to someday find a “home home” where I’ll gladly stay for a decade or more, but it doesn’t feel like this next place will be that.

All the best in your new digs. And, I really mean digs. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. How quickly time passes…it doesn’t seem so long since you moved to this house. Wishing you all the best on your move. Merry Christmas.
