I had to focus pretty hard. At first I saw only leaves. Curious about the role of plums here (e.g. the blog title), I looked back a few years to “Plums. A History,” which put everything into focus, including that hope-filled green one.
I think this year I’ll protect them from the birds with old strawberry clamshell containers. It worked with my tomatoes last year…
