Didn’t know that. As with aged whiskey, I’ll be more appreciative from now on when I sit down to eat asparagus with friends.
Once it’s established, you can eat some every year. A book called Animal, Vegetable, Miracle gave me a new appreciation for asparagus (and many other things.)

Really? I better start now as we do love this vegetable. Happy harvesting…I bet it will taste amazing after patiently waiting that long!
I hope it lives long enough to enjoy on the table. If not, it sure is a fun fuzzy little plant.
