Where are the green onions planted?
– In the old squash bed.
So not by the Thai basil.
– No, that’s the society garlic. Did you eat it?
I started to.
Our second season is starting.
I’m not sure if we ever have spring…
Peas have yet to make it into the house before being devoured. I planted twice as many this year. This is about a quarter of them. I still have no hope that any will cross the threshold into the kitchen. (I’m ok with this.)
Whichever season you’re in or entering into, I hope you find it’s joy..
And it’s bounty.
I purchased seeds years ago and sowed them. Flop.
I sowed them again.
Flop.
I gave up and moved onto something else.
And then…
Pop.
They grew and grew and grew. Four years they grew until it came time to move. I packed up the fallen seeds and went on my bittersweet way.
I brought seeds years ago and waited. I waited until their cousins bloomed and waited. I waited until their cousins grew older and dried up and let their spent petals fall.
I sowed my traveling seeds and waited.
Pop.
A leek’s scape escaping!
Beans have been busier than the bees.
Serranos sliding into first in the pepper bed.
Lemon trumpets over bolted parsley.
Curious lavender looking into the path.
To find…carrots! My carrot sowing helper was quite zealous in her seed sprinkling.
I hope to have a copious amount of coriander soon.
Let the window ripening begin for the year!
